Survey Crew Chief, Land Surveyor (Full Time)

Job Description:

As a crew chief, you will lead a crew performing many different varieties of surveys and staking.  You will be responsible for productivity, operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, and performing calculations.  Office involvement will include performing calculations, copying and filing of data.

 

Responsibilities include:

-Direct field crew by assigning responsibilities and overseeing all work performed

-Perform survey activities such as: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross section surveys

-Perform physical tasks such as: line clearing, pounding stakes, setting monuments, and locating critical underground objects

-Works both indoors and outdoors in varying types of weather.  Considerable walking and standing in varying types of terrain.

 

Requirements:

-High School Diploma/GED

-Ability to pass a Drug Screen and a Criminal Background Check

-A minimum of 3 years of experience including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, construction staking, and data collection required

-Must be hard working, dependable, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license and clean driving record

-Highly proficient in mathematics and measurements

-Knowledge of survey ethics, technical standards and construction procedures

-Proficiency with GPS, Robotic Total Station and Data Collectors

Professional Land Surveyor (Full Time)

Job Description:

As a PLS, you will help manage an office to produce drawings for Boundary and Topographic Surveys, Construction layouts, Subdivision Plats, Right-of-Way plans, Legal Descriptions and ALTA Surveys.  This position will be mostly in office, with some field work if needed.

 

Responsibilities include:

-Prepare, stamp and sign various survey types

-Prepares/record surveys with appropriate county authorities

-Prepare/file monument records in accordance with state statute

-Researches city ownership, right-of-way, and other real property issues

-Plans, schedules and coordinates the work activities of assigned survey staff

-Provides technical advice and direction to assigned survey personnel

-May testify in court as an expert witness regarding land surveys

-Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

-Licensure: Colorado Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), required.

-A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a PLS, supervisory/lead work experience preferred

-Proficiency with GPS, Robotic Total Station and Data Collectors

-Proficiency in AutoCAD, preferably CIVIL 3D

-Ability to use Trimble Business Office to process files and work establishing or converting coordinate control

-Ability to organize/review field notes, red construction/right-of-way plans, and coordinate/direct field crews

-Experience performing Boundary Research

-Strong math skills

-Valid Driver’s license

-Knowledge of state statues, federal regulations and codes related to land surveying.
